by | Padre Hotel
| Eat.Drink.Sleep, Inc. has acquired the historic Padre Hotel in downtown Bakersfield, Calif., from Rancho Santa Fe-based Pacifica Enterprises. The deal was brokered on behalf of the seller by Paul Runkle and Brian Loring of Hendricks & Partners' Pasadena office. Built in 1928, the 112-room hotel is located at 1813 H St. As part of Bakersfield's redevelopment efforts, the buyer plans to restore the hotel to its original use as a hotel, restaurant, nightclub and coffee shop. Pacifica purchased the property in 2001 but was unable to achieve its goal of converting the vacant building into condominiums and retail space. Address: 1813 H St., Bakersfield, Calif.
