A three-story office townhouse and carriage house located in the Dupont Circle section of Washington, D.C., has sold for $5.5 million. The seller, Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Incorporated (IEEE), was represented by Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers. Ritte Company purchased the building. The 10,119 square foot building at 1730 Massachusetts Ave. is a French neo-classical style property that includes a carriage house, an outdoor courtyard and six parking spaces. Built in 1890, the building served as the headquarters for IEEE Computer Society, which had owned it since 1985 and since relocated.
